Student life

Our Students’ Union is one of the biggest, best and most active in Britain (The Complete University Guide 2017). Run by students for students, it offers an exciting programme of entertainment, diverse clubs and societies and a comprehensive range of welfare and information services.

Ranked top 4 Students’ Union in the UK by Which? University Student Survey 2017, Y Plas our multi-purpose venue, The Great Hall and the Taf are among the Union’s many attractions.

With more than 200 cultural, political, religious, social and sporting societies to cater for all types of interests, you can be sure of a lively social experience at Cardiff University.

Careers and Employability

Our graduates remain among UK’s most employable, according to the latest Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education figures (2016/17). Six months after graduation, 96% of students are employed or in further education.

Students involved in extra-curricular activities and work experience can participate in the Cardiff Award Programme, which provides formal recognition of employability skills gained during these activities.
