What is your most memorable interview experience?

I remember meeting someone at an event who didn't know what they wanted to do in the future and had completely dismissed professional services as a career for them. This person was also quite nervous, however I started talk to them about their A Level and being at college and they light up. They then begun to talk freely and confidently which was such a difference. We had a great chat for about 15 minutes and he did walk away genuinely interested in RSM and what we offered. Later that day, they applied to one of our school leaver programmes. I gave them a call to say that it was great to see his application and coached them in their approach to being invited in for assessment/interview. Researching and having confidence in what you are talking about speaks volumes to an employer, this is what I told this candidate to show their true potential. They went away and did just that, I was delighted when I found out we offered to the candidate.

Which person dead or alive inspires you?

Probably not everyones cup of tea, but as an avid football fan I would say Jamie Vardy and the Leicester FC team who won the premiership this year. It shows how great determination, teamwork and inspired all other football clubs to show hard work always pays off.

What is the best piece of advice given to you about your career?

You can be anything you want to be, we all start in life the same, so if you want something, go get it! And that's what I try and do every day.

What do you like most about working for RSM?

In my role, I absolutely love attending events and meeting young people who are about to start their career. RSM is a great place for them to begin their professional life and it is very rewarding knowing you are helping change someone's life.

What has been your most memorable work social event?

Here at RSM we have an annual HR and Development Conference. Over 2 days in May we helped both DofE and Teens Unite Fighting Cancer charities. I think this would be the most memorable as it was so inspiring to use RSM's partnership with DofE in such a positive way.
