University Profile
Unleash your colours at the University of South Wales.
Inside and outside the classroom, we help you achieve your potential professionally and personally.
Here’s what you need to know.
Courses
You can choose from a wide range of subjects at the University of South Wales, with different levels of study available. We also offer ‘sandwich’ courses that have a year-long work placement built in, as well as degrees with an integrated Masters qualification.
Many of our courses are accredited by professional bodies, which means they can grant you exemptions from professional exams and qualifications.
Employability
Employability is at the heart of everything we do. We seek to ensure students are ready to start their career as soon as they graduate, with teaching informed by what happens in the real world.
Students learn about their profession in environments that recreate the workplace, using the same equipment and software they’ll find there too.
It’s an approach that works. 95% of our students are in employment or further study within six months of graduation (DLHE 2016/17).
Student life
At university you’ll make friends for life, try out lots of new things and become more independent than ever before.
With campuses throughout south Wales, USW students can enjoy city life, stunning beaches and breathtaking countryside.
There are Halls of Residence and Students’ Union at every campus, with plenty of sports teams, clubs and societies to choose from.
We’re here for you too, from wellbeing and study skills to money advice and careers support.
Find out more
You can come and see us at What Uni Live events to find out more. Then the best way to know if USW is right for you is to visit us at an Open Day. You can explore the campus, see where you’ll live, and speak to tutors and students – all giving you a taste of what it’s like to study here.
