Journey In

As a teacher you can teach in the following settings:

  • early years (children up to the age of 5)
  • primary (ages 5 to 11)
  • secondary (ages 11 to 18)
  • further education (for example, teaching at further education colleges or sixth form colleges)

Teacher Degree Apprenticeship

The Teacher (Degree) Apprenticeship (TDA) is a new and exciting route into teaching.

  • Allow you to ‘earn while you learn’
  • You will gain all the qualifications you need to teach: a degree and qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Courses will launch for application from autumn 2024
  • You will be employed by a school and gain experience in the classroom whilst studying
  • By the end of the 4 year course, you will be qualified to work as a teacher
