Working for Overbury and Morgan Lovell
We are continuously developing our future talent through the Foundation Programme which is a two-year programme created for school leavers and graduates who are starting out in the industry.
For our school leavers, we understand that you may have no idea what you would like to do so we rotate you around the 5 main disciplines of our business; Pre-construction, Construction/Project Management, Technical Services, Commercial and Design. This gives you the opportunity to experience each area, helping you to decide where you would like to focus your career. Even if you do already have a good idea of the discipline you would ultimately like to work in, we still encourage you to rotate to gain a really broad understanding of how the business works.
Furthermore, we provide funding for you to complete a day-release HNC in Construction which gives you a high-level understanding of the industry. Once you have completed the two years and the HNC you pick the discipline you want to specialise in and we top up the HNC to a degree in the relevant subject, which is a further three years on a day release.
For our graduates, you will work in the role that you graduated in, but we bring you and the school leavers together every 6-8 weeks for additional training in business, behavioural and technical skills to help bridge the gap between education and the workplace. We also support professional accreditations such as CIOB and RICS.
The Foundation Programme creates a support network for young adults starting out in their career. Once you have completed the programme, it’s just the start of your career with us as you are permanent members of staff from initial employment.
