MyBigCareer’s mission is to provide free one-to-one careers guidance to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and break down the barriers to social mobility. Since the beginning in 2013 MyBigCareer has already given thousands of disadvantaged children the chance of a better future.

Advice is delivered by careers advisers from the independent sector, alongside volunteers from top professions. Volunteers offer a range of services from CV workshops, mentoring and interview practice to advice on subject choices, university applications including personal statements, apprenticeships and employability skills.

As a careers adviser for over 27 years, founder Deborah Streatfield’s work has ranged from helping students in private schools, to supporting and inspiring homeless people and ex-offenders. Seeing both sides of the coin is what spurred her on to start MyBigCareer, as she passionately believes every child has the right to same high standard of guidance and support.
