Highways England is the new government owned company charged with managing, maintaining and operating our motorways and major A roads, which includes modernising and maintaining the highways, as well as safely running the network and keeping traffic moving.

We are on track to complete the largest roads investment across England’s major roads in a generation, around £15bn of new roads and improvements by 2021, boosting capacity, tackling congestion and improving safety.

With increased investment, certainty of funding for future years and greater flexibility we will become a better business.
