Struggling To Know What To Do Next?

Back in the day your parents may well have completed a career questionnaire at school, the aim of which was to help them choose a suitable career path. I can hazard a guess that they are not doing anything in relation to what the result stated. These days, psychometric assessments are much more sophisticated and can be very useful to help young people (and adults) with their career decisions. If you don’t have a Scooby Doo about what to do in the future, a good quality psychometric assessment can give you some ideas. It can also help to confirm, or indeed challenge, your ideas if you already have some. The key thing is that they are assessments, not tests. So if you’re low on confidence there is no need to fear. In fact, these assessments can help to boost your confidence and motivation because they measure potential, not academic ability. Here are 7 questions that a good psychometric assessment can help you to answer…
  1. Am I more suited to an apprenticeship or further/higher education?
  2. Why do I find school boring?
  3. Would I prefer to be in charge?
  4. Do I have the right qualities to be an entrepreneur?
  5. What type of work environment would suit me?
  6. Based on my profile, what jobs are worth investigating further?
  7. What courses would I be interested in studying at a higher level?
A detailed report is produced at the end but it is important that it is interpreted correctly. This should takes place with a qualified expert who can discuss the report with you, answer any questions and help you to decide what to do next.
